The Haugs estate ran from Solveldte in the southeast toJellumveldet
in the north, from Storelva in to krodsherad and Fladelet. In thisestate
lies now all the Haugen farms, Omnan, Moen, Besserud with Finnebratan,
Raenset with Nyhus and Torrud, Bjertnes and many other places whichhave
over the years become solely-owned farms. In the oldest tax listsHaugen
is worth 20 units of value and 3 calfskins which belonged to HovlandChurch.
Halvor and Bjorn answered for the farm in 1528, there is apossibility
for 2 estates at that time, but 100 years later there was only oneleaseholder.
Bjorn Haugen was in negotiations with Kopseng in 1537, it concernedthe portion
between Haugen and Osteng, it is named Dybsio, Lisletjern and Halvfarin the
piece of land to be divided.
Gunnar Eikje and Torstein Engar made the division in the woodsbetween
Haugen and Teige in 1579, of boundaries ar named Istjern, upwards toAsmundt-
jern and up in Leintind which was now called Rante.
Bjorn Haugen was juryman in 1541.
Halvor Halvorson Haugen is named in an unregistered diploma fragmentin
R.A. from around 1590. He had business with an Aasa. At the sametime it
is named that Halvor had a brother. This Aasa was perhaps mother orstepmother
to them. At any rate she had been married to a Halvor.1.) In a letterfrom
Hervik at Modum in 1601 is named Halvor Haugen, married to ToraJorgensdatter,
sister to Mari Jorgensdatter at Skadeland. They had two sons that weknow
of: 1. Erik who owned th farm
2. Halvor who was most likely at Moen.
Halvor Haugen was juryman in 1603 and 1620. Eivand Haugen was in1612
summoned to court by Halvor and Hermend Tiege because they felt thathe
had logged on Teigemarka land. We have only subpoenas in this case.Eivind
owned in 1624 20 units of inherited goods in Haugen, in Ramnas inNumedal
(he owned) 5 units, in Ebbesberg, 3 in Skare. He later bought 6 inPletan
and parts in Skadeland, Hovland and Skare, so he owned many goods. He
became a juryman with a settlement at Gulsvik in Fla in 1624. He alsowas
a churchboard member for a time.
