He left a will on 19 Feb 1609/10 in Headborne Worthy, Hampshire,England; In the name of God amen the XIXth of Februare 1609, I JohnFifield of Hedbourne Worthie in ye County of Southt. being seke ofbodie but of perfect remembrance thankes be to God doe make this myalst will & testamente in manner & forme following. First I bequeathemy sole to God my maker & my bodie to be buried in the churchyard ofHedbourne aforesaid.
I give to the parish churche of Hedbourne aforesaid viii $.
Item. I give to my son WIlliam Fyfeild ten sheepe and one cowe beingparte of my stocke which he hathe nowe in his hands. Item. I give tomy sonn Richard ten sheepe to be pd to him two yeares after mydecease. Item I give to my son John twentie sheepe & one cowe to bepaid to him in one yeare after my decease. And if it happen thateither of my sones Richard or John die before their portions givenunto them my will is that the part or parts be equally divided betweenthe rest of my children.
Item I give to my two daughters Mercie & Susan six(?) Sheepe apeece tobe paid to them one year next after my decease. Item I give untoeverie of the children of my children William, Mercie & Susan a lambeapeace to be paid to them fower years after
