Sigdal og Eggedal, Morch p 1015
Moen has cabins by the north end of Gamlesetervatnet. Moen and lowerHaugen
are alike and in Gamlesetra. The joint porperty around Sjusloen -around
4000 acres of mountain woods - are part of the two farms. The homecabin
of Moen lay a quarters way from Gamlesetra, it is set apart.
Upper Haugen. Bjorn Haugen owned, together with Steingrim, theentire
Haugen and Rainset, in all 20 units of value and 3 skins.
Bjorn Eivindsen Haugen was born around 1615 and had with his firstwife,
these children 1. Lars, married to Helge Helgesd. Bjore fromKrodsherad,
owned the farm. 2. Taran 3. Mari, died before 1694. 4. Eivind,married
to Eli Reidarsd. Skare, in Besserud. 5. Tord, died before 1694. 6.
Ragnhild, died without heirs before 1723. There was a settlementafter
Bjorn in 1674. We have no account of it, but we know that the widowBirgitte
was married for a second time to Kittil Skare (Blekaberg). With themat-
riculations in 1667 Jon and Kittil became owners of Haugen (this can'tbe
completely correct after what we have said before), the farm was inall
valued at 30 units of value, and fed 2 horses, 10 cattle, 8 calves and8
sheep, here were there woods for building and firewood. In the taxlisting for
1672 the exact accounts are given for the owners here: Lars Bjornsenwith
his siblings had 8 1/2 units of value, Steingrim with his and hisbrother's
part had 8 1/2, Narve eikje in had a good 4 1/2 units, in Raenst 5 andin
Slogemoen 1 1/2, Hovland Church 3 skins in Hole which is a part ofHaugen,
down in the ground. Haugen had a saw for its own use. With anappraisal in
1687 here - upper Besserud had just been cleared and was to beappraised,
Haugen with its places of Raenset, Ellevsrud, Slogemoen, Hole andBesserud
was worth in all something near 32 units of value, there was bothlogging for
saw and house timber, fishing areas in the mountain, but only forhousehold
use.
