Helge Ellingsen married Ingrid Nilsdatter from upper Gronhovd,
their children:
1. Elling, born around 1696, married in 1723 to Siri EivandsdatterEikje,
owned the farm.
2. Nils, born around 1699, married in 17233 to Goro Narvesdatter
Gronhovd, Evju.
3. Ingebjorg, married to Knut Knutsen Omlia.
4. Mari, married to Jon Bardsen Hovden in Krodsherad..
5. Ase, died in 1731
Helge died in 1725, Ingrid was dead before this. At this timeafter Helge
there were 3 cattle, 4 big and 3 small heifers and 19 sheep. Theyowned
land in Halsteinrud, Tveiten and West Blekaberg, and still there were496
silver coins to divide. The oldest son took over Halsteinrud, but theother
siblings got the equipment on the farms. Helge had allowed Jon Engargot the
cabin "Fisibu" in deed for 10 silver coins, but then Jon was bitten by
________?. Thereafter Helge wanted the cabin back in 1706. The yearafter
Jon became stubborn and felled the trees so that he closed the road(which
belonged to Helge) off from the woods, and there was then only oneroad there.
They could not get through to the woods, cattle, horse or man. Jonfelt
that he would do as he wanted with (the road), for he had himselfgiven only
five years ago a promise to Helge saying that he would make use ofthis narrow
strip of land. But then witnesses came forward and showed that theroad
was an ancient one, that same that Jon ahd closed. He therefore wassentenced
to clear the road as it was before, and pay silver and 2 silver coinsin fines.
Helge had money remaining in Engar and had in active deed the placesBergerud,
Gunnarsplassen, Krinkerud and Nybusetra. In 1723 they fed with 12hayloads
1 horse, 7 cattle and 12 sheep in Halsteinrud, there were woods forthe
house and firewood, here was there a cabin.
