Anders Knutsen took over the farm as early as the 1630's, he owned 71/2
units of value here and paid property taxes alone in 1644, he hadbesides
5 units in Teige, over 5 in Bole, a little in Asen, Asland and theentire
east Soland. Anders Jellum was county sheriff in 1658.
Anders Knutsen, born about 1601, was married to IngebjorgSteinarsdatter
and the following children are those that we know of: 1 Gudbrand, bornabt
1639, was here for a time, and then in Upper Teige. 2. Nils, marriedto
Guro Narvesdatter Eikje, owned the farm. Tora, married ReidarHalvorsen
Sole in Omlia. 4. Live, married for the first time to Hans AndersenKvie
in Fla. and the second time to Klemet Gutormsen from lower Trommald.
5. Elling, who was in lower Bole for a time from 1659. In 1667Gudbrand
Andersen was here, he is on the tax lists in 1663-71, so is Anderslisted
for 2 years, and after him son Nils from 1674. The farm was valued at
15 units on the tax rolls of 1667,but it had only 7 1/2 units, and inthe
1670's 10 units, it fed 1 horse, 8 cattle, 4 calves and 12 sheep.Jellum
was the parliamentary meeting place the same year. Anders Jellum andhis
wife got 8 skins in Kobbersgarden in Nore, he entered into goodsthere,
and so he owned 13 skins=13 pieces=6 1/2 units of value. It wasAnders
Knutsen who sold his wife's inheritance in Asland, 1 1/2 piecestoGunnar
Asland in 1674. The same year there was a settlement after Anders and
Ingebjorg Jellum. Nils Andersen displaced his sister here so that hewas sole
owner in 1679. Both Nils Jellum and Torgeir Sund complained in 1694 tothe
father-in-law, Narve Eikje, as they felt that their wives had gottenless
at home than their brother Eivind. They had gotten the equipment inRaenset,
Haugen Skare and Slogemoen, but it was all too little they said.
Nils Andersen, born around 1627, and Guro Narvesdatter had thesechildren:
1. Lars, married to Gunhild Helgesdatter Medalen, 2. Ingebjorg,married to
Anders Gutormsen Strand. 3. Gunhild, married to Eivind GunbjornsenTeige,
in Asen. 4. Kristi, married to Engrebret Andersen Gronhovd. 5.Ingebjorn,
born born around 1681, married to Halvor Helgesen Medalen. 6. Joran,born
around 1684, died without heirs. From 1696 or so Nils Jellum wascounty
sheriff in Eggedal. Nils Jelum also had Asen, but this farm was takenfrom
him in 1703 by inherited property rights. He died around 1705. Thatyear
there was a settlement after him and his wife Guro, who had diedbefore
1698, the value of properties were 10 in Jellum, 2 in Asen and wellover 4
in Eikje, all together 44 silver coins to divide. The son overtookthe farm.
